Roll up, roll up! Come one, come all!

For one day only, the Winter Gardens Film
Festival invites you to step back in time and discover a world of archive film showing beautiful, breezy Blackpool through the ages.

Come and see bustling beaches, bathing belles and all the fun of the fair in the Pavilion of Blackpool Winter Gardens.

There’s something for everyone, with:-

  • Walk-around screenings
  • Deckchair Theatre
  • Live side-show performers
  • Learn to ride a Penny Farthing 
  • Seaside-themed creative workshops
  • Parasol Parade
  • Edwardian dress-up photo studio
  • Vintage Illuminations

... and much more!

Pavilion Parasol Parade

Saturday 29th July 2017: Part of the Retroscope family archive film day.

We’re inviting schools, community groups, businesses or individuals to decorate a brolly and compete for the title of the Most Popular Parasol.

The competition will be judged by the general public and there with special prizes for winners.
Registration fee is £5. For this you will receive a plain umbrella to decorate and entry to the competition.

Entries should be based on any of the following themes:

  • Blackpool
  • Seaside
  • Holiday; or
  • Funfair  

We are looking for originality, imagination and creativity.

You will need to drop off your completed parasol by Friday 21 July and collect it after the event by Monday 21 July before 4.00pm.

Entry to the event is between 11am & 4.30pm on Saturday 29th July.
