The North West Film Archive presents Blackpool on Film, a fascinating dip into the archive’s collection of films featuring the nation’s premier seaside town.

From the official promotional films made to draw visitors to the town using the railway network to the home movies made by the visitors and locals alike, we’ll take a trip down memory lane, exploring the town’s rich cinematic history.

A variety of fascinating films have been specially curated to give you the chance to step back in time and discover a world of archive film full of bustling beaches, evenings on the town, seaside hi-jinks and all the fun of the fair.

Presented by a member of the archive’s staff, this is sure to be a hit with locals and visitors alike. You’ll also experience the wonderful sound of the mighty Opera House Wurlitzer. Organist David Ivory from the Cannock Chase Organ Club will play the audience in and out of the auditorium.

Heritage film tea party

Join us for tea, cake and informal film chat with the North West Film Archive and Winter Gardens Trust in the stunning Mazzei Café following the Blackpool on Film event. Includes a hot or cold drink and a selection of cakes.
This needs to booked directly with the Winter Gardens, you can add this to your ticket for just £4.
